Our History, Mission & Vision

Our Foundation – A Vision by Studenterlauget

The first edition of Aarhus Case Competition took place in 2012 and since then, the competition has been an annual event at Aarhus University, Business and Social Sciences. In their own words, the founders, Jesper Agerholm and Anders Thomsen, established Aarhus Case Competition to show students at Aarhus University “the magnificence of case competitions”. Generally, case competitions tend to be for a small group of students, but Jesper and Anders believed that by bringing real-life cases and companies to the students, they could show that all students can benefit from it.

Aarhus Case Competition is one of the business units of Studenterlauget, which is the largest student organization in Denmark with 4,000 members. The main purpose of Studenterlauget is to create the best possible social and professional opportunities for the students at Aarhus University, Business and Social Sciences, and Aarhus Case Competition is one of the projects that Studenterlauget has launched in order to fulfil this purpose:

“Studenterlauget is very proud of being a part of Aarhus Case Competition. This initiative is a way for us to create opportunities for the students at Aarhus University, Business and Social Sciences, who have a profound interest in case solving. We believe that a great campus offers both social and academic offers, and we are sure that this case competition held together with our other activities will help to make Aarhus University the best campus in Denmark.”

Our Vision

We want Aarhus Case Competition to become one of the most challenging and rewarding case competitions – anticipated every year by students and the business community in the Nordics.

Furthermore, we want to promote a case competition culture which will be mutually beneficial to businesses and the educational society in Aarhus, Denmark, and the rest of the Nordic region.

Our Mission

The purpose of Aarhus Case Competition is to offer AU students an inspiring experience and an opportunity to develop their case solving skills. The concept bridges the business and academic worlds in order to prepare students for a business career.

Additionally, by establishing a case solving culture among the students in Aarhus, we seek to raise the overall educational level at Aarhus University.
